Overview

Great Rann of Kutch is a salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India. Kutch is the largest district in the state of Gujarat as well as in India. The region is spreaded around an area of about 7500 square km. It is also known as Asia’s biggest tent city. This area has been largely inhabited by the Kutchi people. The northern boundary of the Great Rann of Kutch forms the International border between India and Pakistan. The area rich in natural gas was once a part of dispute between the two countries. We will see some of the more important points about Great Rann of Kutch in below section.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive Bhuj - Little Rann of Kutch
Meet, assist upon arrival at Bhuj Airport and shall proceed for drive towards Little Rann of Kutch (90 Kms/2.5 hrs.). On arrival, check-in to your Resort.

Little Rann of Kutch Wildlife Sanctuary is a desolate area in western Gujarat, a refuge for the endangered Asiatic wild ass and one of the few places where the ass survives in the wild. The Wild Ass Sanctuary was created here in 1973 to protect the world's last home of the Asiatic wild ass. The sanctuary is also home to many species of migratory birds, such as the sarus crane, ducks, the Dalmatian pelican, and flamingoes, as well as land birds like the sandgrouse, the francolin and the Indian bustard. It is also home to various mammals such as the Indian wolf, desert fox and nilgai.

The rest of the day is at leisure. In the evening enjoy a cultural show at the resort.

Arrive Bhuj - Little Rann of Kutch
In the morning proceed for visit the White Rann and enjoy the beautiful sunrise there.

Kutch Biosphere Reserves aim to promote sustainable development in the surrounding area, which is reserved for conservation and research. Such reserves are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, the Indian Forest Act and the Forest Conservation Act. The government takes care of the conservation of the landscape's biological diversity and its cultural heritage.

In the afternoon shall proceed to explore the Rann of Kutch and then enjoy the sunset.

In the evening enjoy a cultural show at the resort.

Little Rann of Kutch –Bhuj & Departure
Morning after leisurely breakfast, check-out from the hotel. Then proceed to drive towards Bhuj Airport for an onward journey.
