Pench National Park is the least known park in Madhya Pradesh’s trio of tiger reserves, which includes Bandhavgarh and Kanha, and something of an unsung beauty. It is less frequently included on tiger spotting holidays because, despite being home to around 50 of these big cats, it’s harder to see them here amongst the dense forest.

While the chances of seeing tigers are lower than in other parks, so too are visitor numbers, and this is Pench’s trump card. While Bandhavgarh has a reputation for a rather smash-and-grab style of tiger spotting, since its sighting rates are so good, Pench offers a more peaceful and secluded experience – you can sometimes feel as though you have the park to yourself.

Overview

Pench National Park, named after the Pench River which meanders through it from north to south, is located on the southern boundary of Madhya Pradesh, bordering the state of Maharashtra. The park was established in 1975 and expanded to become a tiger reserve in 1992. Most of the tigers live within the boundaries of Pench National Park itself, which forms the reserve’s core, but the entire reserve straddles both states, with 11 entry gates.

Day 1
NAGPUR – PENCH BY: SURFACE
Meet and greet upon arrival at Nagpur Airport or Railway Station. Later proceed for drive towards Pench Forest (110 Kms/2.5 hrs). Upon arrival at Pench you will proceed for check-in to your hotel.

Pench National Park is a national park in India's Madhya Pradesh state, established in 1975 with an area of 257.26 km2 (99.33 sq mi). Pench National Park also known as Indira Gandhi National Park is known for large population of chital and sambhar and has the highest density of herbivores in India. The national park consists of dry deciduous forests and much fauna and flora including tigers, various types of deer and birds. At this national park commonly seen wildlife is chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boar, and jackal. Also Indian leopard, sloth bear, indian wolf, wild dog, porcupine, monkeys, jungle cat, fox, striped hyena, gaur, four-horned antelope and barking deer live in the park.

This afternoon you will proceed for exclusive jeep safari at the Pench National Park.

This morning will proceed for another exclusive jeep safaris at the National Park.

Later, after breakfast check-out from the hotel and shall transfer you to the Nagpur Airport or Railway Station for an onward journey.
